Hi, I always get asked by all my clients how is my playing season going. So hopefully this blog will help you keep updated with my progress throughout the season. I will do my best to update it as much as my time allows.
4th March 2011
Its 7am, I have been up for an hour. I have a lot of work to catch up on. The teaching side is going from strength to strength. With being Lead coach to the County U16's development programme there are many things that need doing. My Golf needs a lot more attention and I have started to play at least twice a week, ready for the first event at the end of this month.
I am doing a coaching trip to Roda, Spain in a couple of weeks, so that will be a great chance to get my game into shape, in what I hope will be a warmer climate.
I hope you are all well and I look forward to sharing my success with you in 2011

17th August
A month on and i ve had some great success. i finished 3rd in English PGA Championship. It was great to compete in national events and to be in the top 3 again follwing my 2nd place last month in Welsh Open. The day before I left for the English I shot a 64 at Chevin to take the Derbyshire PGA Pro Am.
Now most of my big events have finished, my coach Steve Astle and I have decided its time to make some changed ready for next season. I will finally have to get off the sofa and get into the gym this winter and get stronger, as I am lacking the distance I require to compete week in week out .
The one part of my game that has been the strongest is my putting. I have averaged just under 28 putts in July and August, this would be up in the top 10 on the european tour stats!
Right I am off to a Pro Am at Ashbourne now. Catch you soon.
14th July
Sorry again for a late update, but the last month has bought me some great success. After a great holiday with the family I finished 2nd in the Ryder Cup 2010 Welsh Open. I lost in a playoff to Richard Dinsdale. Last week I won the Ashbourne Pro Am with a 7 under par 64, the following day I finished 2nd in the Midland Masters Pro Am with another 7 under par round.
I had some great news yesterday that I have been given a place in next weeks English PGA Championship at Goodwood Park. I feel the way I am playing i have a great chance at winning the event. You can follow my progress at www.pga.info
18th June
Sorry for not updating the blog recently, I wish there 8 days in a week. My form has really come on in the last month. I would put this down to some great work with my swing coach Steve Astle and also the addition of a putting green in my garden. To see my recent results click here
Sunday 2nd May
The 2nd round of the players tour event saw me shoot 69 (-3) again to finish in a tie for 3rd on 6 under par. I hit some good shots but also a few loose ones. I got it to 2 under through 9 holes but dropped shots at the long 10th and the par 3 13th saw me drop back to level for the round. I kept my head up and birdied the 15th and hit a great 5 iron into the 18th a par 5 to 10 feet, and when the putt dropped an eagle was registered. I was quite happy with 3rd but I know a win shouldnt be to far away.
I am enjoying a few days off before I return to work and a very busy playing month. From next thursday 's players tour event at Fixby Hall I will play 10 tournament rounds in 13 days. I will do some swing work with my technical coach Steve Astle at the beginning of this week and put some practice in.
Thursday 29th April.
I am sitting in my hotel room in Prestatyn after round 1 of a players tour event. i have shot 69 (-3). I am currently lying 5th. I will need a low round tomorrow if I am to catch the leaders who shot 67. My game is getting into nice shape and I am starting to roll the ball better on the greens. I hit 11 fairways out of 14 today which really pleased me and I also got up and down out both the bunkers I went in to. The short game is something I have really wanted to improve and I am just starting to see glimpses of what I have been working on show under pressure on the course
Just in case you were wondering I am not staying at the Pearl of prestatyn caravan park where the Royal family stayed!!! Hopefully my next message will bring a good 2nd round. Catch you later
