East Midlands Golf Academy grabs YMG Junior Golf Academy status

Youngsters keen to try their hand at golf can now look forward to the very best introduction to the game as East Midlands Golf Academy at Morley Hayes has become a YMG Junior Golf Academy.

Young Masters Golf is the first ever structured educational syllabus designed to not only introduce boys and girls to the game of golf, but also help them develop the skills and knowledge of the game that will keep them interested and motivated long enough for the golf bug to bite.

East Midlands Golf Academy is delighted to become one of around only 500 clubs nationwide to be accredited with YMG Junior Golf Academy status, as Head of Instruction and PGA Professional, James Whatley explains:

"We're all very excited to have become a YMG Academy because it means we can now offer children the fabulous YMG programme, which, alongside coaching youngsters in how to play the game, also teaches the rules and etiquette through exciting activities, fun challenges and mini-competitions to ensure that the whole golfing experience is about having fun."

Youngsters joining a YMG Academy receive a comprehensive manual, which puts as much emphasis on the rules and etiquette as it does on playing the game, and there are five levels to work through, each comprising an 8 week course of one-hour lessons.

The extremely attractive and carefully assembled manual enables youngsters to see what's in store, week-by-week for each of the 5 levels (Cadets, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Masters) and each level is marked by a series of fun skills and knowledge challenges which the children complete to move on the next level.

"We will be starting our first YMG Cadets course - the first stage of the YMG programme - in the summer holidays! We already have quite a few youngsters interested in joining the classes, but we'll always make room for more," says James.

East Midlands Golf Academy would like to invite you to join its Junior Coaching Programme in conjunction with YMG (Young Masters Golf), a nationally recognised coaching award.

East Midlands Golf Academy will run the YMG programme at Morley Hayes, Derbyshire. It will be 4 weeks of 2 hour coaching sessions. The price will be £69; this will include range balls, club hire and expert PGA tuition for 8 hours!

Each Child will receive a comprehensive manual, which covers every aspect of the game, including how to play, the rules, etiquette and golf knowledge!

No previous golfing experience is necessary and all equipment can be supplied!
