Welcome to East Midlands Golf Academy at Morley Hayes. I am a fully qualified PGA Professional with a successful track record of improving players of all levels.
Since the launch of my business "EMGA" in May 2007, I have been appointed coach to the Derbyshire County Lady Teams and represented Great Britain and Ireland in September 2007 in the PGA Cup against the USA. I am also the Derbyshire Professionals Champion 2007 and have been chosen to represent England in the European Team Championships.
In all of my lessons video analysis is available at no extra cost. Seeing your swing gives you a visual picture of what you are trying to achieve and will help speed up the learning process.
I have always resisted the temptation to teach one method to all players. I prefer to see the truth and the individual for what they are, maintain an open mind and apply a cure that fits their physique and mind best.
I am confident that with some professional guidance you can become a better player and enjoy your game even more!

Steve has over 15 years golfing experience and has given thousands of private/group and corporate lessons. With 2 seasons coaching overseas in Austria and New Zealand, Steve is a welcomed member to the East Midlands Golf Academy Team!
Steve is a class AA PGA Professional and former Titleist Scholarship award winner and Top 10 PGA Trainee of the Year who graduated with an overall Distinction in 2002. A graduate of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida and Southeast Community College, Nebraska where he achieved All Conference/Region & Minority Schools All American and 3 MVP awards.
Steve is coach to many Midland professionals and top British amateurs including Head of instruction James Whatley and worked with 5 of Derbyshire’s top 10 ranked professionals during 2007 helping many of them to their most successful seasons to date. All lessons are combined with computer swing analysis where appropriate and Steve is a firm believer in teaching the individual to understand their own game and what makes it work and where it breaks down. He specialises in long term game development.
Steve has also assisted over 30 UK Student/athletes in finding Golf Scholarships in America and is now also working for the British PGA in Training and overseeing tutors on the new UKCC PGA Level 1 & 2 Programme to fellow Golf professionals. See www.steveastlegolf.co.uk for further information.
